THiRtEEn

During Electron festival, the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, in partnership with Flux laboratory and Fluxum Foundation, celebrates the 100th birthday of John Cage with a creation by Foofwa d'Imobilité.

Recently returned from New York, Foofwa is working on THiRtEEn, a piece for three dancers: Marthe Krummenacher, Anja Schmidt and himself, to be presented April 5 2012, along with the Chamber Orchestra of Geneva, to celebrate the 100th birthday of John Cage. Drawing on his methods and thoughts, a dance of indeterminacy and interdependence is formed.
The OCG, led by David Greilsammer, will play Thirteen, created in 1992, the year of the departure of John Cage, in which 13 musicians play for about 30 minutes.
