Concert by Lucile Notin-Bourdeau
Fluxum Foundation is pleased to welcome the singular young artist Lucile Notin-Bourdeau in concert with two musicians from the collective La Belle Brute, Julien Bancilhon and Olivier Brisson, for the closing of the exhibition Danser Brut – le corps instrument.
The BoyGirl band will offer a new reinterpretation of pieces chosen by Lucile during the few days she spent in the LaM, Villeneuve d'Ascq, during the original exhibition. The artists will meet in Geneva for a unique concert and new adventures!
Globetrotter of the thought, everyday Lucile builds visual notebooks of her travels between two worlds, between two realities ... Lucile was born in 2002 and was always a very singular child. Later, doctors called her 'autistic', probably a typo. Lucile Notin-Bourdeau likes drawing, eating, singing, bathing, cuddling, playing with her dolls and watching her favourite movies, as well as music, people, dance, story books, beat box and cats, and in-between other adventures she exhibits her drawings alongside Vaslav Nijinski's in the exhibition presented at Fluxum Foundation until the 15th of June.
About her drawings, author and cartoonist Claude Ponti says: "What is extraordinary in Lucile's drawings is that a child is able to achieve the perfection of the creative, spontaneous and inspired act. This is the learning curve and mature achievement of many artists, painters, draughtsmen, calligraphers for over a millennium and particularly in the Far East. It is not, of course, the so-called question of a child’s soul. This knowledge is long and hard to acquire. What’s more, her drawings speak loudly to those looking at them. Emotions, feelings, veracity, intensity. Thank you, Lucile. "
La Belle Brute
Born of the shared desire of three friends - Julien Bancilhon, Olivier Brisson & Matthieu Morin - whose paths converged between music, psychiatry and art brut, La Belle Brute collection was born mid-2016 during the group’s second trip to Jean-Marie Massou’s. Or how to master the production of their future adventures, from sound recording to the physical release of their work, passing by sound production and graphic design. The La Belle Brute collection revives the publishing activity of the Vert Pituite La Belle association, focusing its work around the topic of "raw practices in music". Between 2001 and 2004, Vert Pituite had published four albums, one co-produced with other independent labels, and two issues of the journal Phrênésie (zine + CD). With the collection La Belle Brute, the concern for the support is amplified with great emphasis put on the graphic work and to the photographic illustration of the projects presented.
