Daniel Schweizer - ‘FACES of Human Rights Defenders and the Extractive Industry'
Opening at 5pm
Daniel Schweizer, Swiss film director and documentary maker, presents an exceptional series of photographs capturing portraits of defenders of Human Rights. This exhibition takes place in the frame of the Filmfestival and international Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH) that establishes itself in Zurich, offering to Swiss-German public a new tribune on Human Rights. His assistant Aurélien Fontantet will present a few images as well, taken in Amazonia.
"FACES of Human Rights Defenders and the Extractive Industry shows portraits of individuals engaged in the defense of Human Rights in relation to the extractive industries, a sector that often operates in already fragilized contexts. The protection of those who defend Human Rights is a priority for Swiss foreign policy. In order to make this priority real, Switzerland gives directions to all its foreign representations on the protection of Human Rights Defenders, presented in this exhibition. The show takes place in the frames of the first Zurich edition of the Film Festival and International Forum on Human Rights, the new antenna of the FIFDH-Geneva."
Flux Laboratory is proud to host this exhibition at Schiffbauplatz 5 in Zurich: come discover magnificent individuals!
The initiative is supported by the Federal Department for Foreign Affairs (DFAE).
