Eimaste 2, Eimaste 3, Eimaste 1013, Performance – Tribute to Mikis Theodorakis
Aghia Irini Square, 21.09.21, 18.30
Flux Laboratory Athens, on the occasion of International Day of Peace, organizes a dance action - tribute to the leading composer Mikis Theodorakis.
International Day of Peace was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981 to spread and promote the ideals of peace and non-violence among nations. Flux Laboratory Athens chose this day to honor the universality and sensitivity of the work of Mikis Theodorakis, who passed away on September 2, passing into eternity as a musical symbol of peace and democracy.
Drawing from the song "Eimaste dyo (We are two)", the choreographer and dancer Markella Manoliadi invited 22 dancers to work together on a unique performance intended for public space. On Tuesday, September 21, at 18.30, the dancers will unite at Aghia Irini Square of Athens, as a symbolic dance gesture, open to the public.
"We are an endless, deep river that is constantly deepening, that is constantly widening and enriching as it moves towards this endless, wide sea, which is the global cooperation within world peace; it is sharp, solid, final".
