IN RESIDENCY: ÆTHER DANCE COMPAGNIE
From November 12th to 17th 2019, Flux Laboratory will host Carl Crochet from the ÆTHER DANCE company. He will work on his new creation: "Mr Karrlaux goes under bridges".
A routine that runs smoothly, that of a man weighed down by the time that passes. Mr Karrlaux lives his life obediently, protected by the safety of his comfort zone. An introvert, unaffected by anything surrounding him, he goes about his daily activities looking for his own happiness, omitting the fact that an unconscious change is happening, one that will enhance his personal happiness. Deliberately saturated and exhausted, where does the unconscious draw the strength to save us?
This solo is the reflection of a man in-between fiction and reality, who only exists as a facet of a larger being, but who can paradoxically also represent an entire reality for some. This character needs to exist as close as possible to one reality, in order to feel all the emotions, sensations and vibrations delicately interwoven in it. The viewer, just as the interpreter, is given an opportunity to resume a dialogue, to get in touch with this facet again, to accept and cure it in order to offer its own solution and the desired change.
"Mr Karrlaux goes under bridges" is inspired by hypnosis techniques, used for therapeutic care such as metaphors or nested stories which can trigger unconscious change in the patient. These techniques allow to find one's own unconscious solutions, leading to visible changes in consciousness. To improve, transform or acquire the necessary resources for the desired change.
