In the run-up to a large tribute event to John Cage celebrating his 100th birthday, the Geneva Chamber Orchestra (OCG) and FLUX Laboratory presented a concert uniting music, literature and dance based on the personality of the composer. The musicians of the Geneva Chamber Orchestra offered an unusual performance which drew its inspiration from this great creator’s curious and crazy inventions.
A few days after, during Electron Festival, Foofwa d'Imobilité,recently returned from New York, presented THiRtEEn, a piece for three dancers: Marthe Krummenacher, Anja Schmidt and himself, along with the Chamber Orchestra of Geneva. Drawing on his methods and thoughts, a dance of indeterminacy and interdependence is formed. The OCG, led by David Greilsammer, played Thirteen, created in 1992, the year of the departure of John Cage, in which 13 musicians play.
