Olivier Delhoume & Marie-Jo Butor, Le Temps du Japon - Cent instants japonais
The exhibition is exceptionally open on Saturday, November 9, from 11am until 5pm!
Flux Laboratory has the pleasure to present -- in the frames of the Autumn of Japanese Culture (Japanese Consulate, Geneva) -- a selection of around 50 photographs by Marie-Jo Butor and by Olivier Delhoume, shot during longer stays and travels, immersed in japanese culture and landscape. This exhibition is also an occasion to present the double book Cent instants japonais - Le Temps du Japon, edited by Notari and containing the full series of these photographs:
Marie-Jo Butor, Olivier Delhoume & Michel Butor gather around their passion for Japan: the book Cent instants japonais - Le Temps du Japon brings together images of the Archipel, taken by Marie-Jo Butor or Olivier Delhoume, accompanied by texts by Michel Butor. Beyond the views of permanent movement, their photographs show a Japan of feast, sometimes silent and always astonishing, where time has no limit.
The exhibition, first on show at Flux Laboratory Geneva, is thus moving to Flux Laboratory Zurich and will be the occasion for Japanese dancer and choreographer JOU, in residencyat FLUX Laboratory, to present her creation in collaboration with composer and sound performer Mitsuaki Matsumoto.
The two artists in residency will intervene on the opening day in Geneva, on Tuesday, november 5th; on Thursday, november 14th for the closing of the show in Geneva; and on Tuesday, november 20th for the opening in Zurich.
